Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Trashbox LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use BMPlayer (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Note: This document is provided as a starting point. Privacy laws vary by country and region (for example, the EU/UK, California, and others). You should have a qualified attorney review this policy for your jurisdiction, business structure, and actual data practices before publishing.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide (account)
When you create an account, we collect:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account identification, sign-in, and important service communications |
| Username | Public or in-app identity, as designed in the App |
| Name (e.g., first and last name, if you collect them) | Personalization and account profile |
| Password | Used only to authenticate you. We store a one-way cryptographic hash of your password (we do not store your password in readable form). |
We use this information to operate the App, provide your account, authenticate sessions, and communicate with you about the service where appropriate.
1.2 Information collected automatically
Depending on how the App is built and your device settings, we or our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Approximate location derived from IP address (often at a regional level)
- Diagnostic or crash-related data (if you use analytics or crash reporting tools)
Update this section if you add analytics, crash reporting, or other SDKs beyond what is listed below.
1.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (and potentially Google's advertising partners). AdMob and its partners may collect and use information to show and measure ads, which can include:
- Device identifiers (such as advertising IDs on mobile)
- IP address
- General device and app usage data related to ad delivery and performance
How Google uses data is described in Google's policies, including:
You can limit ad personalization on many devices via your device settings (for example, "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android). That does not always mean you will see no ads—only that ads may be less tailored.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Show advertisements through AdMob
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights and safety
- Communicate with you about the service (for example, security or policy notices)
We do not sell your personal information for money. Where "sale" or "sharing" has a specific legal meaning (such as under U.S. state privacy laws), certain advertising-related data processing by ad partners may be treated as "sharing" or "targeted advertising"; we describe AdMob above so you can meet transparency expectations.
3. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us host, operate, or secure the App (for example, cloud hosting), under contractual obligations to use data only as we direct
- Google (AdMob) for advertising, as described in Section 1.3
- Authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users or the service
We do not share your password with third parties. Hashed passwords are stored for authentication only.
4. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. We may retain certain information longer if required by law or for legitimate purposes such as security, fraud prevention, or enforcing our terms.
Add specifics if you have defined retention periods (e.g., delete account data within X days after account deletion).
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including storing passwords using industry-standard hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete certain personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (where applicable)
- Opt out of certain "sales," "sharing," or targeted advertising (U.S. state laws may apply)
To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@trashbox.io. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us at contact@trashbox.io and we will take steps to delete it where required by law.
Adjust the age threshold if your app targets a different audience or region.
8. International users
If you use the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App or on https://trashbox.io/apps/BMPlayer/privacy and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
